‘Designed in 2023, this single-storey residence at 24 Emerald Street, Preston, Victoria, seamlessly blends classic and contemporary elements for enduring appeal.
A welcoming corridor leads to a master bedroom with an ensuite on the left and a garage on the right. Continuing down the corridor, a study space connects to two bedrooms and a bathroom on the left, while a laundry, with its private exit, is on the right.
The corridor also leads to an outdoor deck in the backyard on the left and a spacious kitchen, dining, and living area on the right, promoting seamless indoor-outdoor living.
The landscaped gardens feature a captivating honeycomb design. The exterior showcases a sophisticated blend of black-tiled roof trusses, cream weatherboard, hormigon concrete, and black bricks.
This property harmoniously combines style, functionality, and indoor-outdoor living for a luxurious lifestyle.

Welcome to Contemporary Living at 231 Gower Street, Preston. Experience the future of urban living with three distinctive studio houses, designed as architectural marvels in the heart of Preston. These modern cubes redefine stylish and efficient living, offering convenience and elegance in every detail.
The sleek, minimalist cube design offers practical urban living. Each studio house features an open living and kitchen area upon entry, with a bedroom and ensuite to the left for convenience.
Access to the car space is available from both the right side of the house and through a rear exit, ensuring convenience.
Cantilevered awnings in the backyard provide shade, while hardwood timber fences offer privacy and security.
The front boasts weatherboard cladding, while the surrounding areas feature allucabond, with durable concrete roofing above.
Lush greenery lines the left boundary and adorns the front yard, connecting nature with urban living.

This cabin features a basic rectangular design with a timber truss roof covered in durable colorbond steel sheeting. The exterior boasts vibrant maroon-colored weatherboard cladding. Inside, you’ll find an efficient layout with a dining area on the right, a kitchen on the left, and a welcoming living space. There’s also a versatile studio/study, a laundry, and a bedroom. The cabin is surrounded by a lush garden, providing a tranquil escape in the heart of nature.

Discover the reimagined Saint Benedict Chapel in Sumvitg, Graubünden, originally designed by Peter Zumthor in 1988 and re-envisioned in 2022 by myself.
This intimate chapel features a single-room layout with seating, providing a serene space for reflection and devotion. A religious stand at its core adds a sense of reverence.
Wooden shingles, glass, and concrete stairs combine to create a tactile and spiritual atmosphere, blending tradition with innovation.
The chapel takes the shape of a graceful cylinder, supported by wooden columns and beams. Its benches seamlessly integrate style and functionality.

‘Ngambang Goda’
Multi-Unit Development.

Perched at 290 Walsh St, South Yarra, the ‘Ngambang Goda’ Multi-Unit Development is a harmonious blend of contemporary living and sustainable design.
This multi-residential apartment complex offers a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city, with five residential dwellings and a sprawling rooftop terrace that beckons you to unwind.
Pedestrian access via Walsh Street and vehicle access via Airlie Bank Lane ensure convenience for residents and visitors alike.
The landform is a unique canvas, with a gentle 5-meter slope from corner to corner, complemented by an abundance of trees on the northern boundary and a history-rich stone from prior owners.
The ground floor boasts a captivating array of features, including a pool, a courtyard, and bridges that traverse a serene pond. An island with a lift and stairs offers access to the first apartment, seemingly carried by concrete structures upholding the building.
The first floor is home to three distinct apartments, each adorned with a balcony. Whether it’s the Jr. One Bedroom, Studio, or Two Bedroom apartment, every unit embraces modern living.
Ascend through the lift or stairs to the rooftop terrace, where the fifth apartment, boasting its own balcony, offers a panoramic view. A semi void on the terrace welcomes natural light, solar energy, and ventilation, enhancing the entire building.
The rooftop features three pagodas, with one, the “Glass-Lit Pagoda,” positioned above the fifth apartment, adding a unique architectural element that aids in ventilation. The other two, the “Air Flow Solar Pagodas,” promote natural ventilation throughout the terrace.
Inspired by Japanese architecture, ‘Ngambang Goda’ translates to “the floating pagodas” in Japanese. This name encapsulates the essence of the building, as it seemingly floats above a serene pond, supported by concrete structures.
The entire structure is adorned with greenery, emphasizing its commitment to environmentally sustainable design.

‘Balit-Li Sugarloaf’

Nestled amidst the serene wilderness of Kinglake West, the ‘Balit-Li Sugarloaf’ Visitor Centre stands as a tribute to cultural heritage and the splendor of the natural world.
The name ‘Balit-Li’ derives from the Wurundjeri word for ‘many people,’ symbolizing the profound significance of community and connection in their culture. ‘Sugarloaf’ honors the very location where this site is nestled, ‘Mount Sugarloaf.’
This visitor center finds its home in the heart of the forest, offering a haven of knowledge and appreciation for the cultural features of the region.
The ground floor is a captivating hub, featuring an interpretative space that unveils the rich tapestry of the area’s culture. Here, you’ll also find a cozy cafe and outdoor dining area.
On the first floor, office spaces and classrooms merge seamlessly with the outdoors, inviting occupants and visitors to connect with nature. A void on this level offers glimpses into the interpretative area below.
The second-floor surprises with an open terrace, granting a breathtaking 360-degree panorama. Here, an outdoor gathering space encourages connection with both culture and nature. Remarkably, concrete spherical pillars that uphold the building extend into the roof, allowing gum trees to flourish, symbolizing growth and harmony.
Access to the site is thoughtfully designed, with visitor and tour bus entry car spaces conveniently located along Mount Sugarloaf Road’s south side. Continuing up the bend, staff parking can be found on the northeast side, ensuring ease of access for all.
Greenery envelops the entire building, harmoniously complementing the natural beauty of the site.

This establishment is ingeniously divided into three distinct sectors, each featuring two stories and crowned with a generous rooftop terrace.
Moreover, this design embraces nature's harmonious beauty by incorporating an additional courtyard and a mesmerizing honeycomb garden.
Honeycomb throughout the site pays homage to the honeycomb structures that securely cradle this remarkable buildings.

Explore a variety of pool areas, from lap pools to tranquil spa zones. For your convenience, modern WC facilities and change rooms are readily accessible, ensuring a comfortable visit.
Rest easy with a dedicated first aid room on-site, and when it’s time to relax, enjoy refreshments at the inviting cafe.
Parking and bike stands on the southwest side make getting here a breeze, and with entrances on both the east and west boundaries, accessibility is a priority.
Surrounded by lush greenery, this suburban oasis seamlessly combines nature’s tranquility with the excitement of aquatic activities.
The center’s unique roof design resembles ocean waves, with glazing beneath each opening, bathing the interior in natural light.

A vibrant mixed-use development that elevates living and convenience in Reservoir.
Spread across three dynamic levels, this development redefines modern living. The ground floor welcomes you with an array of amenities, including lifts, a pharmacy, a cafe, a gym, a lobby, restrooms, and a retail store. The outdoor covered seating area on the northeast corner provides a charming space to relax.
The underground car park, cleverly situated on the left, south side corner boundary, offers easy access to both cars and bikes via stairs and lifts.
The first and second floors boast six apartments, each featuring balconies that provide a breath of fresh air and scenic views. These apartments are designed for a modern and comfortable lifestyle.
The exterior of ‘High on Wild’ showcases the striking Shou Sugi Ban Cladding, renowned for its fire resistance. The combination of this cladding with allucabond cladding creates a sleek and safe facade.
Above, the parapet roof is a testament to precision, divided into sections and crowned with colorbond steel sheeting.
